Bright, classic, and unmistakably Southwestern—this handmade buckle features old stock natural Sleeping Beauty turquoise set in sterling silver bezels on a hand-formed steel buckle.
The turquoise comes from the legendary Sleeping Beauty Mine near Globe, Arizona, one of the most famous turquoise mines in the world. Sleeping Beauty turquoise is celebrated for its vivid robin’s-egg blue color, often with very little matrix, giving it that clean, vibrant look collectors love. Since the mine closed in 2012, genuine Sleeping Beauty turquoise has become increasingly sought after.
The stones in this piece are old stock and natural, meaning they were cut from material mined years ago and carefully saved until the right design came along. Their bright blue color stands out beautifully against the darkened steel base.
Set in a bold horseshoe-style buckle design, each stone was hand placed and set at the bench, creating a one-of-a-kind Western statement piece built to be worn for years to come.
