The bright orange spiny oyster brings warm Southwestern color while the turquoise adds that timeless blue contrast that Western jewelry is known for. Together they create a striking combination that stands out against the darkened steel base.
The turquoise in this piece comes from the historic Kingman Mine in northwestern Arizona, one of the oldest and most famous turquoise mines in the United States. Kingman turquoise is known for its bright sky-blue color and beautiful natural matrix, and it has been used in Native American jewelry for generations.
The stones are arranged in a classic horseshoe-style buckle design, giving the piece a strong Western silhouette while letting each stone shine. Completely handmade at the bench and stamped with my maker’s mark.
